Learning objectives
The objective of this course is to present the methodology specific to the field of remote sensing and to present various applications.
An important part of the teaching is based on practical work so that the students can confront the difficulties of the analysis of experimental data. External contributors from large organizations and companies in the sector are organized to promote openness to modern applications and professions.
Description of the programme
The application context of this course is remote sensing in the sense of environmental perception. The program consists in presenting the general problematic, then in presenting the specific methodology. For this teaching, the sessions of course and practical work follow one another so that the students can confront the difficulties and develop their capacities of data analysis. Seminars with external speakers from large organizations and companies in the sector are organized to also encourage the opening towards applications and professions. Concrete applications are discussed.
Generic central skills and knowledge targeted in the discipline
The skills targeted are the development of critical thinking,
the ability to synthesize the results of an experiment (in particular the ability to take into account randomness) as well as the ability to formalize a problem in order to solve it.
How knowledge is tested
